Spring Clean 04:30
Spring Clean How much can you take? How much can you cope with? How much do you hide? How much do you push down inside? When it all blows up When it bursts out of its cage Do you fall apart or do you push on through? All the wrongs you cannot change The anger and the searing rage Drop it all and flip the page Let it all just fall away Dust all the cobwebs from the hall Sweep out the dull and dusty floors Leave all your troubles at the door Let go Open the vault inside your head Empty the worry and the dread Loosen that tight grip on the past Let go Ooooh how much can you take? Ooooh how much can you cope with? Ooooh how long till you say enough? Clean out the Cobwebs in your brain Flush out the things that cause you pain Loosen that tight grip on the past Let go All the times you’ve cried Eaten up by your frustration When your brain is fried Let it all just fall away Clean out the Cobwebs in your brain Flush out the things that cause you pain Loosen that tight grip on the past Let go Dust all the cobwebs from the hall Sweep out the dull and dusty floors Leave all your troubles at the door Let go Open the vault inside your head Empty the worry and the dread Loosen that tight grip on the past Let go

Take It All 02:38
Trying to take it all, with no clue at all In a caravan on a driveway Looking at cupboards and lay on the floor Thinking ‘my God is this what it’s all about?’ Curious, impatient, scared of pregnancy He rolls it on and their clothes stay on As they try, she’s too shy to look him in the eye Thinking my God is this what people rave about? Oh you’re a woman now No you’re not a woman at all Lots of girls at the school, they all go on about Boyfriends and fingering, losing virginity Jesus is ogling long legs in miniskirts A statue of Mary is shedding a tear Oh dear Cruising the party and looking in all the wrong places For something good in the unknown Walls with no wall paper, floors with no carpet and sweat and debauchery Weed and cheap lager Oh you’re a woman now No, you’re not a woman at all Oh you’re not a woman at all She’ll end up hurting him without any concept Of the fact that she is causing him pain Because she is far too young Couldn’t be further from the thing that she’s looking for But she’ll trudge on and on Unfulfilled and numb for many years to come Just a kid completely dumb and not a clue on how to Come on You’re a woman now? No

Predator 03:21
Smashed off her face, melted to an armchair He strokes her hand with quiet demand Young lady don’t you know the trouble you are in A drug fueled kiss and he’s under her skin Left open to the predator The flesh is young and the mind is fragile Soft to the touch, shattered on the inside He’s into the game projecting all his shame Dealing out the punishment and bellowing the flames She’s a sucker for the predator When your heart is stolen You know your hands are tied As time went by, she pleaded to be let inside But with someone like that The walls are tall and wide They’ll leave you freezing say good bye to your pride You go to work and you pay the gas bill You lose your mind at the weekend to unwind Just a little toke Just a little taste Just a little paranoid, a little volatile Devoured by the predator A little mood swing here A little breakup there She’s begging for him not to go As she’s tearing at her hair If she could only see That he isn’t worth the air he breathes High as a kite Keeping up the fight Swallowing and snorting until the beast bites Try and fill the hole Hope it goes away You’ve got nothing going on and nothing good to say With the passing of time She’ll see you as you are A creep to be avoided A slimy predator A little mood swing here A little break up there A little mood swing here A little break up there She’s begging for him not to go As she’s tearing at her hair

A challenge for the strongest mind when driven round the bend To face the near impossible when the fog descends You can place your good will in the centre of the fire I’m closed for business today It falls from the sky and it crushes us to the ground Movements are sluggish and enthusiasm can’t be found I can’t see anything out there I’m closed for business today Take your pills and push the quilt away Try to figure out what broke the day A chemical imbalance or just circumstance Or is it just a part of me by random chance Answers on a postcard and send them right away I’m closed for business today Social media is sucking out the light Step away from the monitor and spend more time in real life Self-comparison can only do you harm It’s all a façade anyway While I procrastinate the hours tick on by But when the fog descends there is no how or where or why You can leave your good will in the centre of the fire I’m closed for business today Take your pills and push the quilt away And try to figure out what broke the day A chemical imbalance or just circumstance Or is it just a part of me by random chance Answers on a postcard and send them right away I’m closed for business today

Oh Well 03:08
No love lost I’m sad to say I went to see him before he passed away He was nice to my son But that’s all I have to say Oh well, never mind The only granddaughter of your only dead son You disappeared and we carried on Yes, you cut me out and the damage was done In my life out of my life you ceased to matter to me What can I learn from your legacy To never treat my son the way you treated me The way you treated my father How you treated your daughter Where were you during my panic attacks We were devasted and you turned your back My mum and I, we struggled by Without you in our lives We live our lives and we reap what we sow And if you fuck it up, you panic when it’s time to go You spoke of love but you never showed it when it mattered What can I learn from your legacy To never treat my son the way you treated me The way you treated my father How you treated your daughter What can I learn from your legacy To never treat my son the way you treated me The way you treated my father How you treated your daughter No love lost I’m sad to say But it feels like a weight was lifted when you went away

Loose End 02:33
I was at a loose end so I went out for a walk I wandered to the harbour and I sat down on a wall Gazing out across the water Feeling torn between two places I was looking for something, I didn’t know what it was I wanted to be somewhere else but I knew I had to stay A friend called invited me over We got stoned and ate spaghetti, listened to the captain My head shut down the whole world was my oyster My heart was led astray when it should have been mine Everything will always move onto the next thing So learn the lessons if you can and hop over the trapdoors

Shadows 03:50
A little bit of nature Captured in the stone Four spires loom over the plaza down below Staring at the statues Beating hearts inside Flower stalls and painters Beneath an August sky Taking in the city from a park upon a hill Lazing in the sunshine, staying there until Twilight falls around me so I head back to the town Disembodied voices on the underground A little bit of nature Captured in the sun Shaking of the urgency There’s nothing to be done So let your mind unravel Connect with here and now Whimsical and wandering No where or why or how Walking through the shadows And the beams of lemon light Gazing through the windows and wandering inside Outside on a rooftop wine begins to flow The singing and the laughter Watching people down below Walking through the shadows and the beams of lemon light Riding on the tail of the day into the night

Monster 03:04
Sometimes they have to be removed Because they become hard to handle Whoever lives within the skin Cannot be seen at that time Feed the monster it will grow Pouring down an open gullet Drinking till the lungs fill up Drinking till the eyes are black holes Go ahead and do your worst The things you say do you remember? How far will it go tonight? Broken nose or cuts and grazes? Falling down beneath the wheels? Head split open like a grapefruit? You’re as stubborn as a bull I’ll wrestle you till you surrender Then I’ll drag you to my house Leave you half dead on the sofa Go ahead and do your worst The things you say do you remember? Sitting in the early hours Sitting talking to your dead friends Do they make a lot of sense? Tell you what you need to hear? Go ahead indulge yourself Drink it all till you feel nothing Never seems to work that way Only seems to make it worse Try and cut me with your words The things you say do you remember? Go ahead and give your worst The things you say do you remember?

If I’m not back by morning If I’m not back by morning I may be dead or just out of my head If I’m not back by dawn If I lose my dignity If I lose my face I’ll just move on ‘til the night time is done And I won’t see you again All that you see is the troubled side of me Pouring out through a self-made hole If you see me stumble If you see me tumble down Walk on by and do not question why It’s just the way I roll There will be no consequences There will be no wounds to dress In this city I can be anybody And you won’t see me again Watch me spin like a pin ball Watch me bounce off the tables and the walls Watch me burn, burn this place to the ground I’m leaving nothing, I’m taking all If you see me stumble If you see me tumble down Walk on by, do not question why I don’t have to answer I don’t have to answer to anybody Walk on by, do not catch my eye I pull myself together in the day time I fall apart when the sun goes down I keep on running tearing up the world around me You’re never gonna catch me now I keep on running

Aeroplanes 04:57
Trading in the hours Tapping into power Shifting in the moment Sinking into time Holding onto something Grasping at the minutes Making out of nothing Changing all the time Everything is out of order Everything is on the other side Trading in the hours Making out of nothing Following a whisper Searching for a sign Everything is out of order Everything is on the other side Watching aeroplanes take off into the grey They are eaten up by clouds as I try to stay awake Tuesday blues is nothing new the hours are dragging My eyes are heavy and my head is lagging Watching aeroplanes take off into the grey I have always been a daydreamer I’ve always been this way The aura in this awful place, I cannot abide And I swear some of the people are completely dead inside Watching aeroplanes take off into the grey They are eaten up by clouds as I try to stay awake Tuesday blues is nothing new the hours are dragging My eyes are heavy and my head is lagging Watching aeroplanes take off into the sky I wonder where they’re going as I watch them with a sigh I’ve stuck it out for three weeks, but I’ve really had enough When I ride off on my bicycle you won’t see me for the dust Watching aeroplanes take off into the grey… etc
